Helpful information for caregivers
and young people from the Police and Telecom
Growing up can be a difficult time. Young people are always being faced with tricky situations and have to make decisions about how to behave. If they want to stay safe and keep out of trouble, they must learn to follow rules and set guidelines for themselves. They need to be able to ask for help when they need it.
Sometimes bigger or older children bully younger ones and make them feel unsafe. No-one should have to put up with this bullying. Sometimes children can do something about this themselves, by being assertive and standing up to the bully. However, the best thing to do is to ask a trustworthy adult for help, and keep asking until they get the bullying stopped.
This video aims to give caregivers some helpful information about the issues, and to provide some discussion points which can be raised with children to help them develop strategies to deal with bullying.
